Certified Billing & Coding Overview
The Medical Administrative Assistant + Billing & Codingprogram is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills required for entry level medical administrative assistant and billing & coding positions. The program also is preparation for various certification exams that will improve employment prospects. The program encompasses both general allied health knowledge (e.g. HIPAA laws and healthcare information, ethical standards, and effective communication) and technical knowledge and functions specific to the medical office environment. Graduates should be prepared for all aspects of a medical office by receiving training for both Medical Administrative Assistant and Billing & Coding and should be eligible to take any of the industry certifications listed below.
